National Youth Council (NYC) has failed to hold elections

Activist Peter Agoro argued that the National Youth Council (NYC) has failed to hold elections for years and thus lost its legitimacy and credibility Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Agoro attributed the recent Gen Z protests to NYC’s failure to champion the youth agenda despite receiving millions in budget allocations each financial year The NYC was established to represent the interests of the youth in Kenya, facilitating their involvement in the socio-economic and political development of the country. Agoro argued that despite the enactment of regulations guiding the election of certain members of the council under Legal Notice No. 183 of 2021 (Regulations 2021), the council has failed to hold the said elections.
